RADIO FREQUENCIES

The frequencies used in radio control car model racing are allocated and strictly controlled by UK law. This is to prevent interference with other users of radio equipment - from heart pace-makers to air traffic control systems.
The only frequencies which are legally permitted for use in the UK are those described here. Other countries use different frequencies - so beware if buying radio control equipment abroad!

"Crystals" for each frequency range are available in AM or FM format (although 27mhz is rare in UK). FM gives a 'sharper' signal, but the transmitter and receiver are more expensive. FM and AM are not interchangeable but can cause interference.
